HSNM MEMBERSHIP

Since the formation of a Membership Committee in July 2022, HSNM has been updating its membership system, including a switch from calendar-year memberships to annual memberships active for twelve months from the date of enrollment or renewal. We have implemented a new process to make online enrollment more responsive. Individual renewal notices will be emailed in the month prior to the date of membership expiration, with acknowledgements emailed soon after dues payment. The Committee continues to look into expanding member resources and benefits, including opportunities for communication and connections among Organizational members. And under a new arrangement with the New Mexico Historical Review, HSNM members can again receive a $5 NMHR subscription discount (4 issues). New and renewing members will receive a link and code with their dues acknowledgement from HSNM to claim the discount directly from NMHR.

After reviewing and comparing dues structures in similar organizations, the Committee recommended a few changes in HSNM membership rates and the addition of some new member categories. The Board approved these changes on November 12, 2022:

MEMBERSHIP LEVELS – INDIVIDUAL

  • $10 Student (full-time, high school – college – university)
  • $20 Teacher (K-12)
  • $30 Senior (individual, age 65+)
  • $30 New! Emerging Professional (individual, under 40 and working in a history field)
  • $40 Individual
  • $60 Couple/Household
  • $100 Patron
  • $250 Benefactor

MEMBERSHIP LEVELS – ORGANIZATIONAL

Sliding scale based on organization’s annual operating budget:

  • $75 for budget under $50,000
  • $100 for budget from $50,000-$100,000
  • $150 for budget from $100,000-$200,000
  • $200 for budget over $200,000

We recognize that some HSNM members prefer to continue payment by check or money order, and can so by downloading, completing, and mailing the updated Membership Form to HSNM Treasurer, PO Box 181, Cimarron, NM 87714-0181. Any members without an email address will receive newsletters and other HSNM notices by mail.
